Elder Hatcher acknowledged that it is not wrong to have emotional reactions when trouble knocks on our door. But it is wrong to allow our emotions to control us. When we do, we make them lord over us and move Jesus into second place! A better alternative is to place our trust in the Gift of God that is within us – the Holy Spirit – who is greater than he that is within the world. The power of this gift that God wants us to stir up is the same source of power that raised up Jesus from the dead! God has overcome the world and empowered us to do likewise through a sound mind regulated by His Word. We just need to get back to the “script” and only believe!
